Geoff Palachuk

Geoff Palachuk

Seattle, Washington

Geoff focuses his practice on construction litigation. He represents owners, architects, lenders, developers, general contractors, and subcontractors in a variety of litigation contexts. He handles disputes involving breach of contract, lien foreclosure, construction defect, land use, and design law. Geoff has representative experience in state and federal courts, including the Washington State Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has appeared at almost every level of civil proceeding available to Washington State litigants. He is keenly aware of his clients' goals and implements thoughtful strategies to achieve those goals. His practice lends itself toward efficiency, directness, and strategic exactitude.

Before joining JBSL, Geoff worked at a large firm as an insurance attorney, where he defended regional utility companies, national railroads, and global insurers throughout the Pacific Northwest. He often defended complex multi-jurisdiction cases. While there, he was also appointed by the Mayor to serve on an ethics commission, and served on the Sheriff's advisory board.

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Geoff is active in the community. He remains a Fellow of the Microsoft & HNBA Intellectual Property Law Institute, as well as a member of the KCBA Judiciary and Litigation Committee, KCBA Social Committee, WSBA section on Construction Law, and NAIOP Washington. He dedicates his pro bono efforts to Meals on Wheels and local Catholic Charities. Outside of work, Geoff enjoys hiking, live music, sports, video games, and long distance running.
